Summer is a season of sticky fingers, sun-kissed cheeks, and infinite imagination. As a parent and crafter, I've always believed that creativity is more than a pastime—it’s how kids discover who they are and how they see the world. That’s why I designed these whimsical crafts for summer camp: simple projects that invite children to play, explore, and create with what nature offers, all while building confidence and connection.
Today, I’m sharing a few favorites that are perfect for camp days, park playdates, or backyard adventures. Each one is created with love, a sprinkle of fairy dust, and lots of opportunities for storytelling.
🌿 Nature Bracelet Adventure
A roll of tape turns into a wearable memory. Kids wrap sticky tape (sticky-side out!) around their wrists, then head outdoors to collect petals, leaves, seeds, and grasses—transforming their bracelets into living charms.🧚 Bonus: We added a mini journal section for kids to reflect, doodle, and imagine stories behind their leafy treasures. 🍃 Fairy Leaf Wings
Let your campers channel their inner forest fairy! Using lightweight cardboard, gathered leaves, and a touch of twine or ribbon, kids can create whimsical wings to wear as they flutter about.🖌 Optional: Add glitter, pressed flowers, or even hand-drawn runes to make each pair truly magical. 🌸 Fairy Tokens
Crafted from felt, twine, and pressed petals, these tokens are perfect for trading, storytelling, or hiding in enchanted corners of the garden. Each child can make one and name their fairy with a trait—brave, kind, curious—building little story worlds with each creation. Find instructions here
These crafts aren’t just fun—they’re gateways to reflection and joy. I love watching kids slow down and notice the colors in a leaf, or invent tales about the “forest fairy” who gifted them their bracelet charm. It reminds me that creativity is a tool for mindfulness, empathy, and connection.
Check out the links to step-by-step guides for those who want to try these at home or with a camp group. I’d love to hear how you use them—whether it’s a quiet afternoon craft or part of a full-blown fairy adventure!
What’s Next: I’m working on a new card club offering for kids and adults alike, and expanding my fairy doll stories to include printable tags and character traits. Be sure to subscribe if you’d like to stay in the loop or get early access to new whimsical projects.
Craft on, fairy friends!
